Using the cutting-edge technology of the Daikin VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) system, the new Orlando Police Department Headquarters building benefits from energy savings, individual control flexibility, and an adaptable design that will continue saving the City money for decades to come. Westbrook successfully demolished and installed a new chilled water HVAC system for this 115,000 square-foot Cruise terminal facility. Held to an impossibly tight schedule of 6 months, Westbrook committed to working double shifts, 7-days a week to deliver this project to HJ High and the Canaveral Port Authority in time for the newest cruise ship’s arrival. The project’s scope included demolition of over 40,000 sf of existing building structures and facilities, a complete renovation of the existing building, and construction of 65,000 sf of new space, new entry areas, passenger screening areas, baggage scanning and handling facilities, ticketing, and a 10,000 sf Customs and Border Protection facility.
